Άλλη μία λαμπερή διοργάνωση που πραγματοποιήθηκε κεκλεισμένων των θυρών και μεταδόθηκε διαδικτυακά. Μετά την αναβολή τους στις 29 Απριλίου εξαιτίας της πανδημίας, η τελετή απονομής των βραβείων Billboard έπρεπε να διεξαχθεί, προτού χειροτερέψουν τα πράγματα και… αλλάξει η χρονιά. Η οικοδέσποινα Kelly Clarkson ηγήθηκε για τρίτη συνεχή χρονιά της βραδιάς που θα μπορούσε να αφιερωθεί κάλλιστα εξαρχής στον Post Malone, ο οποίος από τις 16 υποψηφιότητες κατάφερε να βγει νικητής σε 9 κατηγορίες και να αναδειχθεί «παντοκράτορας». Καθόλου άσχημα δεν τα πήγε ούτε η Billie Eilish, αλλά και ο Khalid, έκαστος στο είδος του φυσικά. Θυμίζουμε ότι πέρυσι ήταν η χρονιά του Drake, ο οποίος είχε αποσπάσει 12 βραβεία.
Γενικότερα πάντως, ρίχνοντας μια ματιά στο πώς έχουν διαμορφωθεί τα βραβεία και κάνοντας ένα μικρό γενικό σχόλιο, παρατηρήσαμε μία περίεργη «μείξη» ειδών και καλλιτεχνών που σε πολλά σημεία φαίνεται αρκετά… αταίριαστη. Για παράδειγμα οι Tame Impala κατατάσσονται ως ροκ και είναι συνυποψήφιοι με τους Tool; Απόλυτα αμήχανη στιγμή και «God Bless America», όπως θα έλεγε ο Kanye West που συγκέντρωσε βραβεύσεις ως gospel και christian καλλιτέχνης…
